José Cura was discouraged from learning music as a child, but when he finally began pursuing music, he trained as a conductor and led a university choir as a second conductor. It was during this time that the main conductor noticed his beautiful voice and encouraged him to start vocal lessons. However, in the first years, he was repeatedly rejected at auditions and considered untalented. Eventually, he sold his house in Argentina, using the proceeds to purchase a plane ticket, and moved his family to Italy. From there, his singing career took off, and according to his recollection, he now earns four times as much per concert as he did when he sold his house.
Szabolcs Szamosi, initially trained as a mathematics and music teacher, also pursued a path in conducting, similar to José Cura. To pursue advanced organ studies, he had to go abroad, and he completed his qualifications in Austria. At this concert, both José Cura and Szabolcs Szamosi can experience the realization of their dreams: José Cura through singing and Szabolcs Szamosi through playing the organ.
